COVID-19 Office Policy Changes
Coastal Pediatric Medical Group is dedicated to the health and well-being of our patients and community. Therefore, we are taking measures to protect our patients and staff during this COVID-19 pandemic. These policies may change over time as the situation is evolving and new information is available each day. The following policy changes take effect on Tuesday, 3/24/2020:
- All in-person visits will be done at our Ventura location (100 N. Brent St, Ste 102). Our Oxnard office is currently closed to patient care.
- ALL Sick Visits will be seen outside the Ventura office, under a tent in the back parking lot. Please keep your family in the car until we approach you for your visit. Only the child who is sick and one parent should leave the car for the visit.
- We are doing Telemedicine visits via secure video conferencing. Please give us a call to schedule any type of visit. ADHD and asthma follow-up visits are particularly suited to Telemedicine visits.
- To limit the number of people in the office we ask that you do not come to the office unless you have a scheduled appointment. If you need forms completed, please fax or email them.
- To limit exposure of patients and their families, we ask that whenever possible, only one parent/guardian accompany the child to the visit. Please limit bringing other siblings or family members unless necessary to decrease overall exposures.
- Our staff will continue to screen patients and caregivers for COVID-19 symptoms when you call for an appointment and when calling to confirm appointments. Please report any new viral symptoms that you or your child may have developed prior to the visit.
- If you or your child are sick we ask that you reschedule any well visits or routine follow-ups.
- We have removed toys and books from our waiting rooms and exam rooms. Please bring your own toys or books for your child’s use during the visit.
- You will be asked for your name and any updated information about your address, phone numbers, and insurance verbally upon arrival. If you would prefer to give us this information more privately, please call us before your appointment.
- Rest assured that we are disinfecting all doorknobs, counters, armrests, walls, exam tables, etc. in order to reduce overall exposure.
- We have a Social Isolation Policy, consistent with Ventura County Public Health, and it is posted publicly at the office.
We appreciate your patience as we work to keep your children healthy during this challenging time.
