4. AI Transparency Policy
At our practice, we are committed to providing care that is both evidence-based and transparent. In support of this commitment, we utilize limited AI (artificial intelligence) tools to assist in documentation and research. These tools are used under the supervision of our licensed providers and never replace clinical judgment.
4.1 Documentation Support – FreedAI
We occasionally use FreedAI, an AI-powered documentation assistant, during office visits involving complex consultations or multiple chronic conditions—typically about 2–3 encounters per day. This helps us capture extensive parent concerns more accurately, especially when the list is long. FreedAI is HIPAA-compliant, does not store recordings after transcription, and supports secure, private documentation. All clinical notes are reviewed and finalized by a provider within a few days of the visit.
4.2 Clinical Evidence Support – OpenEvidence
To stay current on evolving medical literature, we also use OpenEvidence, a medical AI tool that synthesizes peer-reviewed studies to answer complex clinical questions. This is used sparingly and only to supplement our decision-making when dealing with nuanced or emerging care scenarios. Final treatment plans are always based on the provider’s clinical expertise and medical education.
4.3 Oversight and Safeguards
AI tools are used as support systems and are not involved in decision-making without direct clinician review. Providers oversee all inputs and outputs, ensuring patient care decisions remain entirely human-driven. No AI-generated data is stored permanently without provider validation.
4.4 Your Right to Know
We believe in full transparency. If AI tools are used during your visit or in your chart, it is to ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation, and all information is reviewed and approved by your provider.
5. Cookies & Tracking
